A Great Shift Awaits Us . . .

The question is – will you go with the shift or will you stay stuck in the old?

This is the week we have been waiting for.  The Spring/Autumn equinox gateway that leads us into the new Astrological year and the potential to remake & renew the world.  And it all begins with LOVE.  Universal Love & Love of Life itself!

In Human Design astrology, the turning of the seasons happens in the Identity Center (the yellow or white diamond central to your body graph) at the Gates of Love.  The Spring Equinox occurs with the Sun at Gate 25-Universal Love and the Earth at Gate 46-Love of the Physical Body.  It forms what is to me, the alignment we are meant to experience as human beings – Love demonstrated in physical form.  The uniting of Spirit in the Body.

The tragedy in New Zealand this week underscores the need for more Universal Love in this world, along with acceptance and tolerance.  It’s like some people have this shade of fear, hate, and anger over their eyes and just don’t see the light that is in each being in this world.  That makes me feel truly sad.  But a gateway such as this one, occurring so closely to a tragedy of this magnitude, gives me hope.

The Astrology of the Week

Most of the week pales in comparison to the Equinox/Full Moon of March 20th.  The best plan for Monday & Tuesday is to prepare for the passage through the Gateway.  What can you leave behind you?  What is no longer serving you on your journey through life?  It might be a belief, pattern, grievance, victim stance, or something more concrete like a job or relationship that is no longer thriving & flourishing. One thing is for sure, we are being squeezed through the eye of the needle right now, and the only things that can make it through are the most authentic parts of ourselves.  All else is so much baggage.

This week’s equinox is a very powerful one indeed!  The Sun, as it moves through the gateway meets up with Chiron, the wounded healer, and is followed by the Full Moon in Libra/Aries, opposing Chiron.  It’s right in our faces that following the “wound” a deep healing would need to take place – a release or completion of some sort that allows the new to come forward.

Sun conjunct Chiron – The wound of identity is exposed.  Insecurities, fears and unresolved ego issues surface for healing.  Happening like this with a Full Moon, which brings a time for completion and the Spring Equinox which signals something new, we have a real opportunity & duty to bring change.  Healing the wound of separation, intolerance, and non-acceptance of others is of primary importance.

Moon opposing Chiron – The Moon in Libra opposing Chiron in Aries asks us what it is we are doing/thinking or how we are being that keeps the wound alive?  When the Moon is opposite Chiron, we tend to run away from the wound by giving in to the Moon’s perceived safe harbor – in this case we are doing everything we can to keep the balance and harmony, when indeed the best course of action is to shake things up and make the necessary changes.  In order to restore harmony then, we need to address the wound of identity and how we use it as a tool for separation rather than a tool of unity.

Other Aspects Made by the Sun & Moon 

Sun @ 0 Aries semi-sextile Uranus at 0 Taurus – First, we have to define what a semi-sextile aspect means.  Really this is a minor aspect, as aspects go, but because this happens at the zero degree of each sign, it has more importance.  A semi-sextile is a 30° relationship between planets, and this is usually considered a beneficial connection.

A Sun-Uranus semi-sextile calls us to be innovative and creative change agents in the world.  How can we be different?  What can we change so that the world reflected back to us is fresh and new?  The Sun in Aries provides the pathway to something new, and Uranus in Taurus calls us to realign with our common core values.

Moon at 0 Libra inconjunct Uranus at 0 Taurus – An inconjunct is a difficult aspect, and in this case tells us that we are quite likely wanting to keep things the same – keep the status quo as it were.  BUT, Uranus isn’t the kind of planet that likes to keep things static, so we are going to be faced/challenged with what we have to let go of in order to move forward.  Might it be an old belief?  A subconscious pattern?  A paradigm?  This is not only a personal challenge, but a collective one as well.  We will be called upon to answer some difficult questions, and make decisions going forward that change the world.

Lunar Eclipse point in January – An unlikely and almost missed aspect is occurring at this Equinox/Full Moon, and that is the Sun & Moon are in favorable relationship to the last lunar eclipse we had on January 20, 2019 at 0°Leo/Aquarius. What this means is that we may see (individually or collectively) themes in our lives that were also prevalent in January.  Leo/Aquarius rules the part of our lives where dreams and goals become real and tangible.  What were you setting out as an aspiration in January, because more will be coming up for you related to that time.  We may even be seeing the “fruits of our labors” as it relates to desires and dreams.

The Inner Planets at the Equinox Through Human Design

Mercury – Venus – Mars are calling us to graciousness, revolution and simplicity.  It’s quite a mix actually.  Mercury and Venus are sitting in the Emotional Center and Mars is at the Throat center.  Literally they are all working together to teach us to be more emotional mature.

Mercury at Gate 22-Grace is creating the emotional space within us to evolve with more grace and charm, kindness, and honor.  As Mercury rules communication, our involution (inner evolution or inneRevolution) begins with how we speak to one another, and to ourselves.  Words have power and carry weight.  Be ever mindful of the impact of your words.

Venus at 49-Wisdom Revolution is laying the template for us stop being in REACTION and instead be in ACTION.  This involves another type of emotional maturity – that of being RESPONSE-able.  We’re learning that change and revolution begin within each of us, and is the natural outflow of our being more deliberate in the way we engage with the world.

Mars at Gate 23-Simplicity which is also an energy related to assimilation.  Breaking things down to their simplest part, then creating new forms by combining different possibilities.  What would the world look like if we made room in our hearts for more love, tolerance, and acceptance?  Could we use love as a lens to see into the essence of every single being on the planet?  In the Universe?

Jupiter – Saturn in Human Design – Spiritual seeking of the Light and the Ambition and drive to become enlightened.  This is what Jupiter and Saturn are holding space for us to achieve.  It is a personal journey, but at the Equinox, leads us onto the next rung in the spiral in our evolution of consciousness.

The Outer Planets – Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, & Pluto are bringing us change from the inside out.  Chiron at Gate 25-Universal Love is conjunct the Sun at the Equinox.  Their connection is helping us to heal the wound of our identity.

Uranus is at Gate 3-Innovation and is engaged in a grand mutation of our very DNA. The force of ascension and evolution is breaking down the old and clearing a path to the new.  All of this is totally out of our conscious control, and it akin to the unveiling of a higher cosmic plan.  Just go along for the ride!

Neptune & Pluto at Gate 63-Doubts and Gate 61-Wonder respectively, are in the Head Center.  Our minds are being broken down and re-calibrated toward truth.  This means the TRUTH – Universal Truth, not the truth that can be twisted, but the actual, God’s honest higher truths.  Granted, this may take a lot more time.  But I think we can all see that there is something larger than ourselves at work in the cosmos, that we are all a part of something extraordinary, and living from that Truth is what we are rising up to.

Like I said earlier – the rest of the week pales in comparison to this one day!

Weekly Astrology Forecast – March 11-17, 2019

We are in the closing two weeks of the astrological year as we wind down Piscean energy and get ready for the Astrological New Year and Aries energy.  You could say that we have reached a turning point, where we are exiting the old and entering the new!  That makes this week’s transits important for us in terms of completion and preparation for the new astrological year.  

The early part of the week is calm enough, but as we reach Wednesday through Sunday, the energy ramps up forcing us to move through transformation and plan for what comes next.  

Let’s break down the week:

Monday – March 11, 2019

We begin the week with the Moon in Taurus in a positive flow with Neptune, Saturn & Pluto, but challenging Mars in a conjunction.  Mars is in receptive, feminine Taurus, not an especially loved place for him.  The Moon’s conjunction reminds Mars that emotions are an important expression of life, but controlling one’s temper is also valuable. 

Tuesday – March 12, 2019  

The Moon is Void-of-course from 2:31 am PT until 8:48 am PT, and then moves into the sign of Gemini.  Words and messages abound for the next couple of days. It’s a good time for making new contacts and developing old ones, and for putting your finger on feelings that have been waiting for the right kind of expression. Say what you mean, but don’t be afraid to change it, refine it, on the fly.  Watch for a tendency to scatter your energy or lose focus.  

Wednesday – March 13, 2019

Today the Moon is in Gemini all day so we continue the conversation, sharing of information and curiosity.  The Moon is in a beautiful angle today with both Venus & Neptune, giving us a lift spiritually and injecting love into the energy of the day. 

The Sun is empowered today by a sextile to Pluto and a square to Jupiter.  We have the stamina to follow through with our commitments.  The only thing to watch out for is the tendency to want to over-do things – follow this easy rule K.I.S.S. – Keep It Simple & Sustainable.  (I bet you thought I was going to say something else!)

Thursday – March 14, 2019

The Moon is Void-of-course from 5:31 am to 2:49 pm PT as it prepares to shift out of Gemini and into Cancer. Expect feelings to get a little more intense for the next few days, as the Moon is in her own home sign.  Bottled-up emotions that people have been trying to keep a lid on can come spilling out. It’s hard to say what you mean (especially with Mercury retrograde) so it is best to be utterly sincere but not say too much that might set off hidden nerves or be seen as meddling.

Mars trine Saturn  – Slow & steady wins the race!  There is no need to be in a rush or hurry now.  Take deliberate action forward and see you goals come to life!

Mercury conjunct Sun – This signals that we are about 1/2 way through the Mercury Rx cycle.  Now Mercury picks up his marching orders from the Sun, compelling us all to fix what needs to be fixed, and then be ready in the coming weeks to soar.  Don’t be concerned if a bit of crisis or turbulence accompanies this time.  It will all sort itself out!

The Moon in Cancer trines Neptune and opposes Saturn today.  We must be grounded in our Spiritual selves in order to manage the changing currents of the day.  Your intuition is high today, and choosing to listen will be a Godsend for you.  At times today, the energy may turn melancholy or low – don’t be alarmed, it’s just temporary. 

Mercury square Jupiter – Suddenly, the best laid plans are turned upside down, mostly because there are non–working components that simply keep popping up.  Basically, it’s a time for debugging and finessing new operations and upcoming launches into shape. A better time for sorting things out than for starting anew.

The Moon is void-of-course from 11:03 am PT to 5:57 pm PT today, and that means we are not really in a position to start something new or get a lot done.  If you must get something done today, do it early.  All of the Moon’s most juicy contacts happen before its VOC – high energy, empowered feelings, upbeat conversation, and possible unexpected opportunities (or conflict too….just sayin…) are all possible.     

After 5:57 pm PT, the Moon will move into the sign of Leo.  If you follow the flow for the next couple of days, creative and loving feelings can make for an almost party atmosphere.  Make a breakout, or just let the rising tide carry you along.  Be in it for the fun, play and excitement!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone & it should be a wonderful day with the Moon in Leo accentuating a fun and playful atmosphere, and the Moon literally not making anyone unhappy at all today!  There is one transit that we need to be aware of. 

Mercury Rx sextile Mars – Making the most of of procedures that worked in the past, turns into productive and successful ventures.  When things are in order, all runs so smoothly that you hardly notice how well it’s going. It might be a time to take a second look at what it takes to get it right so you can better maintain your path forward.

February 25 – March 3, 2019

 

A sort of quiet characterizes this week as most of the planets have already made contacts to one another in the preceding two weeks.  That doesn’t mean that there are not opportunities or challenges this week, but rather we experience the continuation or solution of issues that came up earlier.

The Moon this week moves through Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn and Aquarius highlighting the part of the Zodiac we think of as relationships we have with the outer world.

Don’t forget that we are in the shadow of Mercury retrograde, so don’t be surprised or upset if things seem to take longer to accomplish right now, or if there are reversals and re-do’s in your life.  You can help yourself tremendously if you slow down and take your time doing things.

There are a few big news type events, which I will detail further into this post –

• Venus moves out of Capricorn and into Aquarius, while in a square (challenge) with Uranus in Aries.
• The Sun in Pisces sextiles Mars in Taurus
• The Sun & Moon square one another in their monthly dance that brings us a “Crisis in Consciousness.”

The Human Design week takes us into interesting territory as well.  The Sun moves into the Gate 37- Harmony, which is about creating positive Family & Community Alchemy, Friendships and Equality.  The Earth at Gate 40- Aloneness, which challenges us as individuals to love our “aloneness” but not to the exclusion of community.  There is so much for us to learn from these two gates that link the Solar Plexus to the Will Center:  force vs. will, equality and balance, work vs. relaxation.  I could do an entire post or workshop just on the ramifications of the evolution going on in these two gates.

Monday, February 25, 2019

We begin the work week with the Moon void-of-course in Scorpio, meaning it won’t be until later in the day where the energy picks up and we can see results.  Don’t beat yourself up trying to force things to get done, you will just end up frustrated or upset.  Rather, wait until later in the day (after 1:20 pm PT/4:20 pm ET) to complete tasks from earlier in the day. When the Void is over, the Moon will be in Sagittarius and our attitude and outlook get a boost.

The Moon is in Sagittarius all day today adding a dose of emotional optimism to the day.  This is a good thing, as the contacts the Moon makes today are challenges to both the Sun and Neptune.

Moon square Sun – This is what we call the time in the Moon cycle of “crisis in consciousness.”  In order to move forward with our New Moon intentions, we must deal with the internal dialogue, beliefs, or patterns that are preventing us from moving forward.  Only then will we see a new pattern emerging and establishing itself in our lives.

Moon square Neptune – You may be more sensitive today to other people’s moods, to the environment, and to the sights and sounds of daily life.  You may also be in a more dreamy state of mind, and that makes this a bad day to make big decisions.  Hold on until tomorrow, when the energy shifts to do anything of importance.

The Moon is still in Sagittarius today, and we’re still feeling buoyed by optimism and a strong faith that everything is going to turn out well.  Added to that, today’s Sun sextile Mars, gives us energy, stamina and a positive attitude to do what is necessary to move forward.

Sun sextile Mars – The Sun is in creative & imaginative Pisces, while the planet Mars is in deliberate, “get-her-done” Taurus.  Together these two planets energetically push us to Manifest & Create and to do it according to a plan of action – yet leaving some wiggle room for creative insights!  We are also more self-assertive under a transit such as this, so there is a small warning to remember to be a team player and not insist on having your own way in all things.  Pisces is mutable (changeable) and Taurus is fixed – so we have to be able to work with both types of energy today.

Moon in Sagittarius conjunct Jupiter – The Moon conjunct Jupiter adds to our optimistic attitude today, but can cause us to overdo just about everything.  So take steps to do things in moderation, and proportional to what is possible for you on an energetic level – meaning your personal energy, finances, time, and physical energy and stamina.

While we slept, the Moon moved into serious and business-like Capricorn.  This is a day filled with the potential to get things done, and to be quite task-oriented about it.  Make your lists and check off items as you’re done and by the end of the day you will feel quite accomplished.  The Moon is also sextile the Sun today, so there is smoothness in your relationships and opportunities might arise today from unexpected places.  Be open to receive.

Happy March Everyone!  You know they say that if March comes in like a lion, it goes out like a lamb…or at least that’s weather lore about the beginning of this month.  I wonder if things are the same in the astrological landscape because March does come in as a bit of a lion for us this year.

Venus square Uranus – Venus, at the end of her transit in Capricorn, finds herself tangled up in a challenging square to Uranus today.  Venus being Venus, things aren’t all bad … more like interesting than challenging really.  When Venus and Uranus come together this way there is experimentation, flirting, and excitement.  Sometimes though, there can be triggers to conflict and fighting.  The trick is to not make mountains out of molehills.  Keep perspective with all your relationships.

Also – since Venus rules money, watch impulse buying!  Make sure that if you are buying something big, that it has real value to you, and that it isn’t just a momentary whim!

Venus ingress Aquarius – I just used a new astrological term for you – Ingress – an ingress is just a fancy way of saying that a planet moved into a new sign.  Venus in this case, moves from Capricorn into Aquarius today and thus changes the interactions in our relationships, how we view our personal worth, and what we value.

While in Capricorn, Venus was wearing her business garb, but in Aquarius she is much more dressed down, funky and much more interested in friendly dynamics.  However, Aquarius can be aloof at times and come across as emotionally detached.  We will want to make sure to be kind, open, honest and transparent with everyone in our lives right now.  If you’re not feeling the emotional connection to someone in the moment, don’t force yourself to be something you’re not.  Instead, value and honor each other for your differences, as that builds the unique tapestry of the world.

Today the Moon transitions from Capricorn and into Aquarius midday moving us into more friendly and sociable territory.  For the most part, the energy of the day is good for getting together with friends or family and having fun.  Later in the day, the Moon meets up with Venus in early Aquarius, and here we have another warning about spending money more cautiously – especially if you are on a budget!  Whether it is impulse buying or overindulging, you could be tempted to overdo any number of things – spending money, eating or drinking too much, or even physical exertion. Just keep everything proportional to what is available to you energetically, and you will be fine!

Moon square Mars – Today you want to watch out for emotional irritability and irritation.  While this is not a good day to repress anger or upset, it is not a good day to explode outward at others either.  Instead, engage in positive ways of expressing yourself – exercise, writing in a journal, hiking, or whatever it is that eases that frustration you feel.  You may also be on the receiving end of someone else’s anger or upset today.  Be ready to walk away or count to 10 before you react.  It will save you from creating a huge response to something that was just a fleeting irritation.

While we have some interesting astrological transits happening this week, it won’t be nearly as crazy-making as last week was.  This week features Chiron’s move into Aries, the Sun’s move into Pisces, and the Virgo/Pisces Full Moon/Super Moon.

Our featured planet of the week is Mercury, who takes on Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto as he is slowing down to his upcoming retrograde station.  In fact, he enters the shadow of his next retrograde on Tuesday, February 19. You will want to pay attention to the messages being delivered to you via Mercury’s connections this week, because you will be revisiting them later in March.  In the body of this post, I have used red lettering on the important Mercury transits.

Chiron, the wounded healer makes a move this week into the sign of Aries where he resides until 2026.  In Aries we will be facing our wounds around feelings of unworthiness and undeservedness, self-denial, not being wanted and much more.  In essence the next several years will be about our search for Self & Identity.

On Monday afternoon, the Sun moves into the sign of Pisces followed the next day by the Virgo-Pisces Full Moon which is also a Super Moon.  This full moon is the closest to Earth for 2019 and should be a magnificent sight if you have clear enough skies to see it.

Busy astrological day today as Venus conjuncts Saturn in Capricorn, Mercury conjuncts Neptune, Chiron moves into Aries, and the Sun moves into Pisces.  The Moon spends the day in fun-loving and playful Leo – I just love it when the week starts off with the Moon in Leo!

Venus conjunct Saturn:  Classic sensibility and simplicity and clean resourcefulness is favored today, so take care not to over-complicate things.  In business, coming straight to the point and being transparent and in integrity wins out over subterfuge.

Sun into Pisces:    Happy Birthday Pisceans!  This is the month for growing our awareness and consciousness, as well our creative imaginations!  Intuition and gut instinct is stronger as well during the this transit.  Work this month on having a compassionate heart and seeing the best in everyone around you.

Chiron into Aries:  Chiron briefly entered Aries from April 17, 2018 to September 25, 2018, and then retrograded backward into Pisces.  He will spend the next 7 years in the sign of the ram teaching many things about Self, Ego, Independence vs. Dependence, and how to let go of Playing Small.  I’ll have a more in depth article on Chiron in Aries later this week.

Mercury conjunct Neptune:  A mist upon the mind makes ordinary clarity difficult. If you can envision it, you can express it, so keep a journal by your bedside. Don’t expect things to make sense right away, but in retrospect it will shine like a firefly in the dark.  In other words, If you can dream it, you can eventually make it reality!

Full Moon-Super Moon at 0°42″ Virgo/Pisces:  A Super Moon occurs when the Moon comes within 90% of the closest approach it ever makes to the Earth.  This month’s Super Moon happens to be the most powerful and closest Full Moon for 2019.  The full moon is also a time of releasing, revealing and completing.  What must you let go of in order to move forward? or What revelations will you have about what comes next on your journey?

Across the axis of Virgo/Pisces we are being asked to become WHOLE and to reconnect the pieces of ourselves that we sometimes do not want to see.  For example, when you face a break up with someone, you might feel as if you lost a piece of your heart or soul.  The trick is to see the break up as objectively as possible, and then to love all parts of yourself that were involved.

This is also a highly intuitive and imaginative Moon – remember anything we want to create must first be imagined (in Pisces where the Sun is) and then brought into reality by Virgo (where the Moon is).  Just as the Sun & Moon are locked in a continuing cycle, so too are we.  Honoring our birthright of abundance through Spirit, we come to realize that we are always on the path of creation and bringing things into reality.  What are you imagining and creating?

Mercury sextile Saturn:  Today the planet Mercury moves into the shadow area of his next retrograde cycle.  Things begin to get wonky and a bit unpredictable.  Tuning into the contacts that Mercury makes today gives us some insight into how the retrograde time may play out.  Remember Mercury rules the Mind & Communication, while Saturn rules Form, Structure & Due Diligence.  This combination seems to be telling us that there is benefit when we slow down the mind enough to be able to ensure that our foundations are solid.  We may even discover that we have missed a step or two and can go back to make changes before we launch something.  Mercury’s shadow period reminds us that we may be pushing too far too fast.

Today the Moon in Virgo is making many different connections.  Most importantly are the trines (120° angles) that she is making to Venus, Saturn and then Pluto in Capricorn.  Virgo and Capricorn are Earth signs that favor the practical application of our resources – time, energy, money, etc.

Moon trine Venus – Know what you want and take the steps to get it!  No dawdling, no fussing, just a straight-line to procurement!

Moon trine Saturn –  There’s a certain stability in the general atmosphere that makes it safe to say what you feel, but not too much. Conservation of emotion might be the phrase. It’s a time to be mutually reassuring, rather than wildly supportive; projects launched will be stable, though, perhaps not very showy.

Moon trine Pluto – A sure confidence that all will be well, whatever happens, fills the air, and faith in yourself and others is exactly what will make that come true. A great day for starting things that require sustained confidence and follow-through.

Blessedly there are no major configurations in the sky today!  The Moon moves early in the morning into the sign of Libra, and with no planetary irritations we can find balance & harmony.  Yay!  Enjoy it as tomorrow is definitely more challenging!

Well today we have several things going on!  Mercury is making another important contact, this time with Jupiter, and Venus is conjunct Pluto in Capricorn.  On top of that, the Moon in Libra is squaring (think challenging) Saturn, Venus & Pluto.  My calendar shows this as a Red number day!

Moon in Libra 

The Moon in Libra is conciliatory, cooperative and seeks balance and harmony.  Then she hits up the three planets in Capricorn:

Moon square Saturn:  No matter how you slice it, this spells “challenge” today.  We may be trying to get somewhere but the foot is on the brake and the gas pedal at the same time. People may be a little out of sorts and feeling irritable so take it easy, give people lots of leeway, and tomorrow is a better day.  It’s Friday anyways, so lighten up!

Moon square Venus:   Today is a day of conflicting desires and goals which act to slow down our forward progress – and you guessed it, frustration ensues!  Remember that this too shall pass and energy will restore itself soon.  AND it’s Friday anyways, so lighten up!!

Moon square Pluto:  What’s that saying??? You can’t beat a dead horse?  Literally, back off and don’t waste your efforts today because the energy just isn’t budging much.  Find the places where you can take action, and let the others go.  AND, it’s Friday anyways, so lighten up!

Mercury square Jupiter  – We have been on a wonderful, optimistic roll with Jupiter in Sagittarius, but Mercury squaring Jupiter may add some unexpected blocks on your path.  Since Mercury is in the shadow of its next retrograde, there can be little problems that pop up, seemingly out of nowhere, that slow you down.  Not to worry, just take your time in moving through anything – AND … this is a better day to re-evaluate, re-work, re-think than it is to be starting something new.  

Venus conjunct Pluto –  Today might be characterized by overwhelming passions, power struggles and over-the-top behaviors.  Venus in Capricorn is all business and she wants to get things done, and then she bumps into the Lord of the Underworld who would like nothing more than to show Venus the error of her ways. In our personal relationships, there may be powerful undercurrents that we need to work through – Desire, Anger, Vulnerability and more.  Breathe – and move through today as lightly as possible without reaction – and breathe again!

Today’s Moon moves out of Libra and into Scorpio early in the morning.  Before leaving the sign of Libra, the Moon will oppose Uranus at the karmic 29° of Aries and opposes Mars in early Taurus.  We may have a short burst of anger & irritation, but take care not to project that out onto the people in your lives.  This too shall pass!

Mercury sextile Pluto – Tuning in to the Force can be easier than you think — you might be doing it right now. We are sensing the “morphogenetic fields” where the stream of information and consciousness emanates from.  When you work in sure knowledge, it works through you. Thus, what you take for granted is your very support structure. Foundations laid now will have that subtle support that protects without any armor at all.

We have a bit of a wild week developing as Mars and Uranus are closing in for their conjunction in Aries at the same time the Moon and Sun are reaching their first quarter square.  Tuesday 2/12/19 is the “bulls-eye” day for this week’s energy.

When Mars and Uranus come together we have combustion with a dose of unexpectedness.  And, when the Moon squares the Sun it is called the “Crisis of Action” where we must confront the outer world circumstances that appear to block our forward progress from our intentions set at the New Moon 1 week prior.

Our Human Design week begins with the Sun at 49-Revolution and the Earth at Gate 4-Answers.  Here we have a bit of the fuel that can spark the Mars/Uranus transformation and the Crisis of Action of the Moon this week.  Likely this is not going to be a quiet one – but likely a bit wild, a little unpredictable, and possibly even exciting.

The Moon spends the day in Taurus and favors sensibility, practical beauty, and the grace of being in touch with nature itself. Simplicity works, traditional fare is ever elegant.

The planet Mercury is giving us a sneak peek into next week’s placement of the Sun at Gate 55-Abundance.  Wherever Mercury precedes the Sun, the seeds of new energy are being planted.  The seeds are abundance and prosperity.  How will you receive yours?  That will be answered with the Full Moon the week of February 19 – so stay tuned, but also open up and be receptive.

Knowing what you want and moving on to get it is the opportunity of the day, and what you fall into now may be just the chance you’ve been waiting for. Sharing goals and deciding to mutually go for it will be the best of all possible worlds for everybody, with a minimum of conflict resulting later.

Moon Square Sun – 1st Quarter Moon – Crisis of Action
Uncertainty and shifting grounds can mark the day’s outcomes, and confidence may retreat in the face of a challenge. Confrontation is the wrong game to play, but pulling out entirely is equally unsuitable. Make judicious compromise now and the resulting situation will improve,but don’t chase diminishing returns.

A general tendency to fire off too fast, shoot from the hip and miss, and boil over
unpredictably marks this as a very volatile time. Accidents abound, tempers flare, and sudden moves bring cause for regret. Look both ways crossing the street and avoid potentially explosive situations — and don’t fly off the handle yourself.

The Moon is in Taurus until 1:33 am PT/4:33 am ET and then moves into Gemini.  We’re shifting from the practical, down-to-Earth to the communicative and curious.  Words abound and messages fly for the next couple of days.  It’s a good time for making new contacts and developing old ones, and for putting your finger on feelings that have been waiting the right kind of expression. Say what you mean, but don’t be afraid to change it, refine it, on the fly.

This is probably a good time for all parties to back off a bit and make sure that what looks like a great idea isn’t actually a hidden misunderstanding. What feels right may be impractical or misleading, so a second look is in order to avoid having to re-position later.  Don’t believe all you hear, or all you say.

The lovebirds – Venus & Mars – are both in Earth signs – it’s all about the romantic and the practical right now.  Venus in Capricorn is wearing her business garb and guys your best route to her heart is through being direct.  Have a plan for the evening and be on time!  Mars moves into Taurus today, girls your way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, so feed him wonderful foods and desserts!

Since the beginning of the year Mars, planet of action, has been in Aries a sign he rules.  We were moving forward at a good pace.  Now as Mars moves into Taurus today actions become of necessity more deliberate and slow.  This can feel a bit frustrating to us, but stick with the pace presented to you and you will be able to reap the benefits of slowing down and being more deliberate.

Today the Sun and Earth shift into new gates in your Human Design.  The Sun is now at Gate 30-Desire and the Earth at Gate 29-Commitment.  The Earth challenges us to be careful what we are committing our energies to.  If we jump to quickly, we may find ourselves committed to something only halfheartedly.  This is our week to move our authentic desires towards action and then commit.  Here are my usual words of caution – Use your Type, Strategy & Authority to make correct decisions for YOU.  If you have no idea what I am talking about, then get your FREE Human Design Chart & Report.

Today is a feel good day and about the only problem is if you overdo anything.  We are not overly self-disciplined during this transit and we can easily think we can do more, eat more, drink more, spend more than is good for us.  Just stay within your means today.  We are definitely more sociable on a day like today.  This is a great transit to have for Valentine’s Day as long as we can all stay within boundaries.

This morning the Moon moves into Cancer.  Expect feelings to get a little more intense for the next few days, especially when there may be bottled up emotions that haven’t been expressed. The emotional energy makes it hard to say what you mean so be careful to be sincere but not confrontational. We may feel more nurturing now, just don’t let it become smothering.

The Moon and Mars are in a great relationship today as long as you don’t try to push things to make them happen.  Maybe try sitting back and letting the circumstances around you dictate the pace that you work with during the day.  Otherwise, you may end the day frustrated and feeling like you didn’t anything accomplished.

Today may be a bit of a difficult day as the Moon is in challenging aspect to first Venus, then Saturn, then Pluto all in Capricorn.

Feelings and desires may tug and roil around you, and trying to create an even balance may be elusive. The environment may be alternating hot & cold, so it is best to wait to make commitments until tomorrow or next week – waiting for clarity serves you best today.  Patience now saves you headaches later.  Apply this to relationships, commitments to time, money or your energy.

Moon Musings

The new moon portal this month features a Sun, Moon, and Mercury conjunction, meaning that the personality, soul, and mind are all vying for your attention. We may have to step back and become more objective in order to see the path ahead of us. The trio of planets are in a favorable aspect to Jupiter (planet of growth and expansion), so it’s very possible that optimism is high. When we align ourselves with our truth, we can make great strides, especially when we think outside of the box in setting our intentions for the month.

Use this moon to ask yourself, “What more is possible?” Are you seeing the big picture? Don’t be afraid to call out your uniqueness, your individuality, the one thing you can do or share better than anyone else. Pay attention to how you are listening. Are you listening with an open heart or a closed mind? These are great questions to journal about this month in any context: relationships, money, health, career, creativity.

Don’t be a lone wolf. Get out and share ideas. Talk with your neighbors, friends, and like-minded contacts. Be aware of stagnation. Real Action With a Twist of Imagination

Weekly Astrology Forecast – Jan. 7-13, 2019

Hopefully everyone moved through the New Moon/Solar Eclipse gateway with plans, ideas and inspiration for what comes next in your lives.  Uranus, planet of surprises, shocks and upsets turns direct (forward) today and we now have all the planets in forward motion.  This is the first time in a long while that we have had so many green lights to take action, and we definitely want to use this energy while we have it!  

Even our Human Design astrology is inspiring us to move forward.  The Sun at Gate 54-Ambition and the Earth at Gate 53-Starting Things, makes it more unlikely that we will remain stagnant this week, as to blast off into new territory.  The favored action, however, is based on a plan, deliberation, and taking a one-step-at-a-time approach.  Taking action just for action’s sake will not get you anywhere.  Real action is much more aligned with a great vision or dream, and that is where your twist of imagination comes into play.  

This week we are definitely urged to be real, and late in the week, Neptune (planet of creativity, imagination, delusion spirituality & more) becomes more prominent across the backdrop of planetary movements, and that is where imagination, thinking differently, and writing a new story supports our forward momentum.  

Let’s breakdown the week ahead: 

First, the Moon moves through Aquarius, Pisces and Aries this week.  Our emotional self is about being in a new wave length, being creative and taking bold action.  Sounds good, right?

Monday January 7, 2019:  The Moon in Aquarius sextile Mars in Aries gives us great energy and outlook to move forward with our plan of action.  We may experience frustration if anything gets in our way though, so be patient if things are not working out the way you think they should.  Slow down for just a minute and check to see if you can find a unique solution to any problems that show up.

Venus moves into Sagittarius today where it stays until February 3, 2019.  While in Scorpio romance was passionate and intense.  During her transit in Sagittarius the romantic energy shifts to adventurous and playful.  Besides romance, Venus also rules money and our values.  We may see some temporary good news coming in from the financial markets over the next few weeks, but don’t let that push you into over-optimistically spending or incurring debt.  Remember that this year favors “cautious growth” and good stewardship of our resources.  Stay aligned with your core values.

 

Tuesday January 8, 2019:  The Moon in Aquarius today is in good relationship to Jupiter in Sagittarius.  There is a perfect match to our inventive, creative sides and our optimistic and growth oriented sides.  Today is a good day to see things differently.  Rise to a higher level in order to change your perspective on things. 

Mercury in Capricorn squares (challenges) Mars in Aries today.  Our minds are sharp and there are few filters between what we think, our mouths and what we want to take action on today.  Try not to get caught up in arguments or disagreements.  Recognize that your own inner conflict may be arising through things that your mind is focused on.  The best way to avoid taking wrong action, is to breathe and then decide on what course of action to take.  This is not a good day to be abrupt, make snap decisions, or allow your anger to get the best of you.  Instead breathe deep, take your time, get outdoors and avoid conflict whenever you can.  

Wednesday January 9, 2019:  The Moon is void-of-course from 8:53 am PT to 11:43 am PT.  That means we avoid starting anything new or making big decisions during that time.  The VOC ends with the Moon’s move into Pisces and then we can let our creative ideas flow and let intuition guide our actions.  The Moon and Uranus are in a good relationship today and we might be surprised by some of the inspiring creative ideas that are coming to us.  This might be a good day to try new things, but be prepared for some ups and downs – nothing horrible, just a little bouncy!  

Later in the day the Moon in Pisces squares Venus in Sagittarius.  We may feel pulled in different directions.  The Moon in Pisces more dreamy and cautious, but Venus in Sagittarius is ready to go and boldly adventures forth.  Rather than just jumping into something, wait for things to get a little clearer.  

Thursday January 10, 2019:  Today may be a mixed bag sort of day.  This morning the Moon in Pisces is in great relationship to Mercury in Capricorn and things seem to be running smoothly.  This is a great time to establish understandings with those around you that can be mutually beneficial and last for the long-haul.  During the afternoon the Moon and Saturn team up and we experience a “cooling” in the the energy of the day.  The best way to deal with the energy of the afternoon is to keep it simple.  The last part of the day and into the evening the Moon conjuncts Neptune and we are back to more pleasant dreams and musings. 

The Weekend

Friday January 11, 2019:   The Moon in Pisces turns Void-of-Course at 6:25 am PT until Saturday morning at Midnight.  That makes most of the day today one for batting “clean up.”  This won’t be a good day to start anything new, so clean off your desk, finish things that have been left undone from the week, relax, meditate or take the day off!

The last aspect the Moon makes before going into void is a sextile to the Sun, suggesting that we go with the flow and not resist what is happening around us.  Taking it easy and letting things happen will let opportunities continue to grow that are already underway.

Saturday January 12, 2019:  While you slept, the Moon moved out of Pisces and into Aries fundamentally shifting the emotional energy for the weekend from peaceful, dreaminess to action-oriented “let’s do this!”  The pace of the weekend definitely picks up, and later in the day the Moon will conjunct Mars, the ruler of Aries.  Here is when we want to watch out for confrontation and conflict.  Rash moves, overblown feelings, emotional conflict, and anger can be lurking around the corner, so it is a good day to take it easy and not push, or be pushed, too far. Similarly, don’t let high energy push you in where angels fear to tread — overconfidence can get you into hot water. Count to ten, then go ahead.

Sunday January 13, 2019:  The day begins with the Moon in Aries squaring (challenging) both Mercury and Saturn in Capricorn.  Are you stuck in old patterns of behavior, thinking or being?  If so, make a break through!  Avoid staying stagnant in anything, yet taking deliberate action is much better than just striking out and doing anything just to break the tension.  Later today the Moon will be in a better mood as it aligns with optimistic Jupiter.  Maybe spend some time with friends today doing things you love. 

The Moon will also square the Sun today and we come to the first crisis point since the New Moon Solar Eclipse on January 5, 2019.  This is the Crisis of Action, and we may see that there are stumbling blocks in getting our goals accomplished.  The test is whether you give up on your goals or do you find the path of flow that leads you closer to where you want to be?  Sometimes it takes a few tries before we get where we want to be.  Be willing to adjust your goals, but don’t give up. 

Today we come to the first pass of Jupiter square Neptune.  This transit repeat two more times in 2019 and is one where we must be careful to detoxify our environment.  And by environment I mean your body, your relationships, your thinking, and even your beliefs.  Take care not to get drawn into schemes by less than scrupulous people.  This is a time to really hold to your intuition and not get blinded by things that other people tell you.  Do your own due diligence before doing anything out of the ordinary.
